Another entry point of ancestral kingdom is “Curses.”
Read Exodus 20:3-5 from your Bible
There is what we call “generational curse.” It is a curse that is triggered, especially, by idolatry. Our continent, Africa, is reputed for idolatry. Many of our forefathers worshipped all sorts of deities controlled by demons (fallen angels): it is not deities difficult to see.
In various villages or homes, you can sight symbols of what they worship.
In the above scripture, God expresses strong displeasure for idolatry and even place a curse over anyone or family that engages in such up to the fourth generation.
Many have gone into captivity today and many are still in bondage because of the idols of their father’s houses; or idols of their villages, towns and communities.
As Christians, we need to be aware of this and be very ready to pray ourselves loose from the power of the idols that is speaking against us.
Read Deuteronomy 28:15 from the Bible
Every time we disobey God, we bring a curse, instead of blessing, upon ourselves. Before God called Abraham, he and his father worshipped the sun. But God called him out and established a new covenant with him – a new covenant that is to govern him and his descendants. Every time the Israelites practiced “idolatry,” what they simply did was to go back to where God picked their forefathers – Abraham.
Today, we are children of Abraham by FAITH in Christ Jesus. Hence, every time we worship ourselves (self worship), money (covetousness), or any idol, we incur the wrath and curse of God.
When Israel sinned, they went into captivity. The same is the case today. Many are in captivity because of curses they have incurred.
Do not let anyone deceive you. Generational curse is real and is an operational base of ancestral kingdoms. It may not be from curses of idolatry. It may be curses inherited from other sources. (We considered earlier in my write ups).
I once ministered to a lecturer. His students were doing pretty well in the professional exams. But, he had sat for the same exam seven (7) times, at the time, and failed in all seven attempts.
As we made enquiries into his family background, we discovered that there existed an embargo in form of a curse, impeding him from attaining a successful feat.
After we prayed, he sat for the exam and passed. While we prayed, his wife who was also present and participated in the prayer testified that she saw in the spirit that the ground opened, like a grave, and her husband emerged from it. The ancestral spirit had buried his destiny; but was freed when serious prayers were made on his behalf.
A lot of people have had their destinies buried as a result of curses from their family background.
However, it is important to know that Jesus delivered us from generational curses through His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension.
Read Colossians 2:14 and Galatians 3:13 from your Bible
Nevertheless, until you appropriate and enforce your freedom by faith in the Word of God through prayer and fasting, you may never experience true deliverance.
I will show you how to appropriate and enforce your deliverance from generational curses by sharing with you three phases of deliverance prayers that will liberate you from ancestral bondage, yokes, and curses at the very end of the series of teaching on this topic.
Shalom!
