“The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the Kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.” (Luke 16:16).
When the Kingdom of God is preached, your inheritance is shown to you, but it takes a press for you to enter into it. It takes pressure to advance. Paul the apostle said, “I press towards the mark for the prize…”(Philippians 3:14). So without a press you don’t get the prize.
That Scripture says, “… Every man presseth into it.” That means the contentions of life are personal, so personal efforts must be made to push them aside. Nobody can press for another, you press for yourself. The best any man can do is to support you, but you are the major determinant of your progress in life. Failure is personal, just as success is personal. You cannot ride on another man’s name and think you have made a mark. If you want to make a mark , you must press for yourself.
When the devil puts roadblocks across your way, pressurize him with the Word. Keep speaking the Word until a way appears for you. Look at the story of the apostles in the early Church. The people hated them. They beat and imprisoned them several times, but they continued speaking the Word. They were pressing, till they filled everywhere with the doctrine of Christ and great multitudes were added to them. Even the priests who were opposing them at first became obedient to the faith (Acts 6:7). If you pressurize Satan the way he is pressurizing you, you will discover that he cannot stand you.
Remember, “… The violent taketh it by force.” Every ground you lose, the devil gains, but when you keep pressing, he has no choice but to keep moving back, till you push him off completely and take what is yours.
