i. Postponing The Day Of Salvation
You are gambling on your destiny when you bank on another opportunity to obey the gospel tomorrow. In Acts 24:25, the Bible says:
“And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.”
But the man in question (Felix) never lived to see Paul again before he died. Why? He was banking on another opportunity to obey the gospel. Like you are reading this message now; don’t say by tomorrow I will start to change, you better change now.
ii. Postponing To Do The Right Thing In The Future
You gamble on your destiny when you are postponing to do the right thing in the future; saying you know it is right but you intend to do it later, in spite of the fact that the almighty have been speaking to your heart telling you where He wants you to go and what to do but you keep saying, “… I will do it tomorrow. . . I’ll do it next week “, or “I will do it when I retire or “when I go on leave. . .”
iii. Taking The Matter Of One’s Soul For Granted
It is gambling on your destiny when you take questionable or non-commital position on the matter of your soul. It means you take lightly the issue of the destiny of your soul, you are playing with your salvation like an eagle is playing with chicken. Know that it is quite difficult for one to gamble with the devil and win – he is a master gambler.
iv. Disobedience To God
You gamble on your destiny when you disobey God in anyway, that is, you refuse to obey God in just one thing out of those things He is asking you to do. There are people like this who are playing very dangerous game of disobedience to God.
You are therefore enjoined to repent if you find yourself among these four gamblers, and then cry to the Lord to save you.
shalom!
