WHAT THE EFFECTS OF ANXIETY DOES 3 – It Kills Your Peace

Peace is defined as “freedom from disturbance; quietness.” It is perhaps the most essential ingredient for living, next to the breath of man, yet, it is very elusive to the natural man. It is sought for tirelessly by world bodies and nations of the earth. But peace is not the absence of war; it is the presence of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, in the life of a man. Jesus was conscious of the importance of peace, so He said:

Read John 14:27 from your Bible

By this, Jesus was saying, “My type of peace is not temporal but everlasting.” Jesus offers you peace even in the face of wars and chaos, the type of peace that makes for an anxiety-free life. Peace and anxiety cannot co-exist. You cannot be full of anxiety and yet claim to be full of peace. One must give way to the other, for one is of God and the other of the devil.

God is interested in you having peace, so anything that tampers with that peace is no friend. Anxiety steals the peace of the believer, leaving him in a state of restlessness and confusion. When there is no peace, one cannot hear God, and you need to hear the Lord speak directly to you (Isaiah 30:2).
