The knowledge of who you are in God and His provisions for your victory are everywhere in the world today very crucial in the battle and subsequent victory over wickedness. Knowledge is the reason why two different Christians would react very differently to the same harassment of the devil. Their reaction to the attacks and wiles of the devil is dependent on the amount of strength each one possesses; and knowledge is the source of strength. The Bible tells us that: “A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.” (Proverbs 24:5)
Your knowledge that the enemy cannot hurt you is what puts you over him whenever he is trying to flex his muscles around you. Proverbs 24:10 tells us:
“If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.”
The truths you are learning now, by the Spirit of God, may not be of much use to you immediately, until “the day of adversity” comes. Even in the natural, soldiers don’t train for warfare at the warfront; their training is concluded before they get to the battlefront. In the same way, soldiers of Christ must increase in knowledge against the days of adversity, so that when the enemy strikes, they will rise up to the occasion and not be chicken-hearted.
Nothing can take the place of knowledge (of the Word of God) in your fight against the devil’s wickedness. You must never be caught fainting over any issue of life. That will mean you haven’t prepared well in advance, your loins haven’t been girded with the truth of God’s Word in that area and your strength is small.
We are in a battle against the forces of darkness, which specialize in perpetrating wickedness.
Read Isaiah 43:2 from your Bible
God says He will be with us, “When”, not “If” we pass through water and fire. It is certain that days of adversity will come. The enemy, like a lion, will roar around you, but the knowledge of God’s Word that you have acquired over time is what will put strength in you, to enable you confront and overcome him.
Shalom!
