Read Deuteronomy 18:9-12.
Familiar spirits are a class of dangerous spirits. The major characteristics of these spirits is familiarity. They are familiar with the personalities.
Familiar means well-known. When a person willfully or ignorantly associates with an evil spirit, the covenant is binding.
When a person has formed a relationship with any spirit, which is not the Spirit of God, the person has a familiar spirit.
Familiar spirits is one of the powers and weapons that are frustrating the human-race.
There are lots of strange children who are possessed by familiar spirit in many nursery, primary and secondary schools. Many innocent children and youngsters are loaded with familiar spirits. They perpetrate terrible havoc without giving anyone the impression that they are wicked satanic agents.
Familiar spirits litter our public and private schools. The innocent birthday parties that are done in schools have become avenues for recruiting new members. The cookies and confectionaries that are being served are instruments of extending the familiar spirit cult or society. That is why one can come across a student that was formally brilliant, becoming a dunce. Such transfer of virtue, is made possible through birthday biscuits.
If you listen to the confessions of ex-familiar spirit members, you will discover that their best past time is the destruction of countless number of souls.
The God news!
Jesus has delivered us from the power of familiar spirits (Col. 1:13-14), through his death, burial, and resurrection (Col. 2:15). All we need to do now is to appropriate our victory in Christ by faith – using the three witnesses the Spirit, the water, and the blood (1John 5:8), inorder to see the reality of our freedom.
