First invite Jesus into your life as your Lord and Savior and receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Second be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil – Ephesians 6:10-11
- Fasting works by intention not duration: Joel 2 verse 12 says turn to Me with all your heart with fasting. Notice fasting is not the subject the heart is. When fasting lacks intention it becomes exercise. When intention is clear heaven reads it accurately. Child of God, before you fast decide what must shift. Fasting without a defined spiritual demand confuses the altar. Intention gives fasting a voice. Without intention your hunger speaks nothing.
- Fasting requires alignment with the Word not emotions: Matthew 4 verse 4 says man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Fasting disconnects you from bread so you can reconnect to Word. If the Word is absent your fast weakens you instead of strengthening you.
Child of God fasting without Scripture creates dryness. Fasting with Scripture creates authority. Always attach a portion of Scripture to your fast. The Word becomes the map while fasting becomes the engine.
- Fasting exposes what controls you: Luke 4 verse 2 shows Jesus fasted and afterward the enemy tested Him. Fasting reveals dominion issues. Whatever screams during fasting is what rules you. Hunger does not speak loudest. Flesh does.
Fasting does not create weakness it reveals it. What fasting reveals God intends to heal not shame.
- Fasting must be accompanied by righteous dealings: Isaiah 58 verse 7 talks about sharing bread clothing the naked and removing oppression. Some fast and still remain blocked because their hands contradict their prayers. Heaven reads behavior as loud as fasting.
Child of God fasting while holding grudges delays answers. Mercy oils the gate fasting knocks on.
- Fasting is a courtroom transaction: Ezra 8 verse 21 shows fasting proclaimed to seek a right way. Fasting is not crying it is petitioning. In fasting you present reasons before God. You are not begging you are aligning yourself with divine order.
When fasting is accurate angels are dispatched not emotions stirred.
Psalm 42 verse 7 says deep calls unto deep. Fasting is not the deep. Fasting is the call. The deep is the place God responds from. When fasting is accurate results are inevitable because heaven understands your language.
Fast to understand not to impress. Fast to align not to escape. Fast to hear not to be seen. Child of God stand your watch.
What To Do While Fasting
This section is intentional child of God, do not rush it. Pray with Scripture open. Daniel 9 verse 2 shows Daniel understood by books before fasting. Let Scripture shape your prayer language.
Speak less complain less observe more. Lamentations 3 verse 26 says it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. Waiting here is attentiveness not passivity.
Break your fast with gratitude not haste. Luke 24 verse 30 shows Jesus broke bread with blessing. How you end a fast seals it.
Habakkuk 2 verse 2 says write the vision. Fasting releases light not memory.
Adjust your lifestyle after fasting. Matthew 12 verse 43 to 45 warns of empty spaces. Fill the space fasting created with discipline.
