EXPOSING SATAN’S WINNING FORMULA 4

The devil is a strategist, a military tactician of sorts. However, he is not all-powerful. He is not even powerful at all. But he cashes in on the wisdom which “…decendeth not from above, but is earthly sensual, devilish”(James 3:15), to deal with man, his victim. Through his wisdom, Satan uses crafty devices to trap men and women. He knows the appropriate bait to use. He also knows how to work cunningly until he arrives at his desired destination. The strategy, which the devil makes use of, is referred to as wiles: Read Ephesians 6:11 from your Bible.

The word “wiles”, means to follow craftily framed devices to deceive. It also connotes cunning arts, deceit, craft and trickery. Thus we see that the devil uses tricks in order to ensnare man. The devil’s strategy is also called “devices” in the Bible (2 Cor. 2:11).

Again, the use of the word ‘device’ is portrayed as an evil purpose. Satan has an evil purpose against you. Ignorance of his devices will spell doom for you. The devil has an evil purpose for you every day. This evil purpose comes in form of traps, which are either destructive or diversionary, and are set up to divest you of the glory and the blessings which God has provided for you. But it is saddening when we come to think of the fact that the strategy of the devil has continued to work against mankind undetected.

The devil knows your strong points. He also knows your areas of vulnerability. If you are already weak, he will trample upon you, but if you are not weak, he will try to weaken you. He will also try to divert you away from the place of your blessing and prosperity. He will try to make your strength of non-effect by checkmating your good moves. You owe yourself the duty of praying daily against the wiles of the devil.

However, if you are born again, by inviting Jesus into your life as your Lord and Savior, you are admonished to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:10-11).

To be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might is to be strong in the WORD and be filled with the Holy Ghost praying always in the SPIRIT.

To put on the whole armour is to wear the various aspects of the armour which symbolize spiritual truth.
