“And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name” (Revelation 13:17).
Note that this implies the mark could take more than one mannerism. In some cases, you would have “the mark” ; in others, the “name” and in still others, the “number of his name.” This allows for three separate and distinct brandings.
These headings could represent further categories into which the Antichrist wishes to divide his followers – perhaps:
- Military
- Governmental
- Civilian.
Each classification would have specific privileges and duties.
