HABITS AND ATTITUDES THAT HINDER BREAKTHROUGH

  1. Living in Unforgiveness

Holding onto bitterness can hinder our prayers and rob us of peace. God calls us to forgive others just as He has forgiven us.

Scripture: “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” — Matthew 6:14

  1. Doubting God’s Promises

Faith is the bridge between God’s promises and their manifestation. Constant doubt can keep us from receiving what God has already spoken.

Scripture: “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7

  1. Neglecting Prayer

Prayer is our lifeline to God. When we stop praying, we disconnect ourselves from divine direction, strength, and wisdom.

Scripture: “Pray without ceasing.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:17

  1. Ignoring God’s Instructions

Breakthrough often follows obedience. Delayed obedience is still disobedience.

Scripture: “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.” — Isaiah 1:19

  1. Allowing Pride to Rule

God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Pride can prevent us from receiving God’s help and guidance.

Scripture: “God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” — James 4:6

  1. Keeping Wrong Company

The people around us can either strengthen our faith or weaken it. Wrong associations can pull us away from God’s purpose.

Scripture: “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” — 1 Corinthians 15:33

  1. Refusing to Trust God’s Timing

Many people become discouraged because answers do not come immediately. God’s timing is always perfect, even when we do not understand it.

Scripture: “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart.” — Psalm 27:14

Final Word

If we examine our hearts, repent where necessary, and draw closer to God, we position ourselves for His blessings and favor. The breakthrough God has promised is not denied—it may simply require obedience, faith, patience, and complete surrender to Him.
