Neglecting the Word in Daily Life: When the household stops reading and meditating on the Word, the altar becomes a lifeless ritual. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 says, Let these words be in your heart, teach them diligently to your children. The Word is the flame that burns through darkness. Without it, prayers become dry, obedience fades, and the family drifts into natural solutions instead of supernatural. What most do not see is that neglect is not absence. It is surrender. Every day you fail to speak, read, and declare the Word, the enemy strengthens his hold on the home.
- Ungodly Associations and Spirits in the Household: When members of the family indulge in ungodly alliances, whether friendships, business, or entertainment, they bring in spirits that weaken the altar. 1 Corinthians 15:33 says, Do not be deceived, bad company corrupts good morals. These spirits are subtle. They whisper compromises, they normalize compromise, and they dry the fire of intercession. The altar is sensitive. Its fire dims when external influences overshadow devotion.

Matthew 18:21-22 teaches forgiveness is the key to spiritual release. Division among family members fractures the unity needed for intercession. Even a righteous person’s prayers are weakened if the heart carries resentment. The enemy knows that strife within a household kills continuity and steals spiritual inheritance.
