Do not sweep anything under the carpet. Seek the assistance of the Holy Spirit for whatever you know you have done wrong. You must also go ahead to forgive everyone who has offended you, no matter how painful the offences were. Jesus said: “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive all those who trespass against us.”
You cannot handle this kind of prayer successfully while you are still holding grudges against those who have offended you. But when you confess your sins, receive forgiveness from God and go ahead to forgive all those who have offended you then, you have a pure heart before God and you are ready to receive from Him. If you neglect this third factor you may not be able to receive answer from God.
The devil knows that if you scale through the area of marriage you are going to become a thorn in his flesh and will not allow him any rest. So, he will look for ways of hindering you. Once there is a legal reason, satan will petition God by pointing to facts like unconfessed sins and lack of forgiveness in your life. If the petition is based on legal reasons, it may work against you.
