You can take advantage of every adversary for your advancement.
Read Deuteronomy 20:1 from your Bible.
Note there that it says, “When” not “If”. So going to battle is mandatory for every believer who must possess his possession. You should therefore not see it strange when challenges come your way. Never feel strange. Don’t ask, “Why me?” It says, “When thou goest .” So, make sure you are going not watching. Some people are watching battles, while others are doing the battle.
You must also know that battles will not disappear, they are to be won through confrontation. And, what you are confronting in battle is your enemy, not your friend.
Sometimes you may be assigned to carry out some duties that get you scared. Remember, in the place where you are most scared is where you become a star.
Above all, be God-conscious. He said, ” …for the Lord thy God is with thee” (Deuteronomy 20:1). What we call confidence is nothing but the consciousness of invisible presence. You cheaply overcome your opposition when you are conscious of the one with you. Elisha one day was woken up by the cry of his servant. Elisha said, “What is happening?” The servant pointed and said “Can’t you see the enemies that have surrounded us?” Elisha told him, “Don’t you worry, they that be with us are more than they that be with them.” He prayed and God opened the eyes of his servant to see the host of angels that were guarding them (2 Kings 6:11-17). If God is with you, the devil cannot prevail against you.
It will amount to a gross abuse of the redemptive work of Christ for your testimony to be anything short of royalty, holiness, peculiarity, and praise-worthiness ( 1 Peter 2:9). You are a city set upon an hill that cannot be hid. You are endowed with potentials to make you reign in life as a king and priest.
Just like the lion’s cub is born with everything it takes to be king of the forest, so are you laden with virtues that will enthrone you among men. It is time for you to break out of your cocoon and shine forth!
shalom!
