You must live righteously – Romans 6:23, “The wages of sin is death”.
You cannot afford to live unholy. You cannot be an armed robber and say you want to live long. You can’t be coveteous and say you want to live long. You cannot dishonor your father and mother and say you want to live long. You can’t disrespect elders and say you want to live long.
Ephesians 6:1-3, “Children obey your parents in the Lord; for this is right.
Honour thy father and mother, (which is the first commandment with promise:)
That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on earth.”
When you obey and respect your parents, there is a promise of longevity – a promise of long life.
Those who dishonor their father and mother may die untimely. Hence, don’t fight your father and mother; respect them, no matter who or what they are.
