Another thing that constitutes a sort of winning formula for Satan is his power of persistence. It is surprising that the devil does not give up in spite of the fact that he has been defeated times without number over & over again. Does the devil ever stop fighting? No. Does he ever stop tempting men, women and children? No. The devil is stubbornly persistent. Even if you defeat him, he will try again. If the devil tempts you once or twice and fails, you are likely to conclude that he has given up. When he comes again, he is likely going to win, because you may not put up any resistance. May I ask, why we give up when the devil never gives up? Therefore, the devil wins because we give up when he persists.
However, if you are born again, by inviting Jesus into your life as your Lord and Savior, you are admonished to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:10-11).
To be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might is to be strong in the WORD and be filled with the Holy Ghost praying always in the SPIRIT.
To put on the whole armour is to wear the various aspects of the armour which symbolize spiritual truth.
shalom!
