The devil defeats men and women through the power of manipulation. This is, perhaps, his strongest weapon. The devil will manipulate men to lure them into satanic traps, while he will manipulate them into agreeing to swallow his baits. The devil knows that if he comes in a straightforward manner, he can never get you, so he will use manipulation as a ploy. Thus many have walked into destructive pits unawares.
However, if you are born again, by inviting Jesus into your life as your Lord and Savior, you are admonished to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour that you may be able to stand against the wiles(manipulation) of the devil (Ephesians 6:10-11).
To be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might is to be strong in the WORD and be filled with the Holy Ghost praying always in the SPIRIT.
To put on the whole armour is to wear the various aspects of the armour which symbolize spiritual truth.
