A life of obedience is another major tool for stirring up the grace of God.
The grace of God works actively, as a believer lives a life of obedience. “Obedience to what?,” you may ask. Obedience to God and His Word. Whatever God says in His Word, you don’t only believe it, but you excitedly put it to work.
To enjoy the grace of God, you must be an excited doer of His Word.
Read 1 Samuel 15:22 from your Bible
Samuel, while speaking to Saul, emphasized the importance of obedience in activating the grace of God. Because Saul was disobedient, the grace of God eluded him, and he was dethroned.
You may say, “But Saul was a king, I am not,” Read what Revelation 5:10 says about you.
The only way you can reign on earth is by the release of God’s grace, and such grace can only work through obedience. Do you want to reign on the earth as a king and priest? Be an excited doer of God’s Word.
Noah had the grace of God actively at work in his life, because of his obedience to God and His Word.
After God revealed His intention to destroy the earth, the Bible says that God instructed Noah to build an ark. He was not to build it just anyhow or with whatever type of wood. He was to follow a laid down pattern. The summary of it all is in Genesis 6:22.
Noah’s obedience ignited God’s grace. That is to say: (in accordance with Titus 2:11) the grace for accomplishment had already been provided, but Noah needed to obey God’s instruction to the letter, before that grace could be stirred up to work.
Imagine what would have happened, if Noah had disobeyed God and refused to build the ark. Imagine what would have happened when the rains descended and the floods came, if Noah had not built the ark according to the prescription. Certainly, he would have suffered the same fate with everyone else and perished in the flood.
Obedience delivered and distinguished Noah, it saved him and made him. It delivered him from the deluge that wiped out others.
In the same vein, for you to be delivered this end-time from the floods of life, which the enemy is unleashing on humanity, total obedience to God’s commands is required.
Noah’s obedience was absolute, not partial. To experience the same results as Noah did, obedience to every Word of God must be absolute.
Obedience is like a magnet that attracts the grace of God and makes it work. So much has been deposited inside you, but what percentage of it have you obediently put to use?
For instance, you have heard the Bible say: “Give, it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together…” (Luke 6:38).
The grace of God unto abundance has appeared to all men, but only those who obey the instruction to give shall receive and be free from the flood of poverty that is hitting hard on every nation’s economy. As long as a man refuses to give, what he has shall be taken away from him, instead of more being given to him.
Imagine someone who wants to enjoy good health, yet refuses to attend church services he doesn’t belong to any local assembly, even when he does, he attends only on Sundays. He has forgotten Psalms 84:7, which says: “They go from strength to strength, everyone of them in Zion appeareth before God.
So, instead of going from strength to strength, all the new diseases coming into the world find his body as a good place to inhabit.
Also, grace for service has been released, but the man who refuses to serve with joyfulness and gladness is being disobedient to God’s Word. Such a man cannot run away from the consequences of disobedience.
Read Deuteronomy 28:47-48 from your Bible
This shall not be your portion in Jesus’ name.
Read 1 Samuel 15:22-23 from your Bible
Rebellion means disobedience and in the sight of God it is as grievous as witchcraft. It also states that stubbornness is as the sin of idolatry. Idolatry means the worship of anything other than God. So, as far as God is concerned, stubbornness carries the same weight as idolatry.
The good news is: there is room for change!
Open up and allow the grace of God to effect that change and lift you up from where you are, to where you ought to be. The more obedient you are to God’s Word, the more grace you enjoy and vice versa.
For you to enjoy more grace than you are enjoying right now, you need more obedience. The God of Noah is still alive today, and you can enjoy more grace than Noah did, Take a giant step forward in the realm of obedience and you will enjoy more grace.
Shalom!
