THE MEANING OF CONSECRATION

  1. Consecration is being set apart for God’s exclusive use:

Instruction: Stop living a shared life between God and the world.

In 2 Timothy 2:21, Scripture says if a man purges himself, he becomes a vessel unto honor, sanctified and meet for the Master’s use. Consecration is becoming a vessel that is no longer common, but reserved. Child of God, what is consecrated is no longer available for ordinary use.

Do This
Identify areas of compromise and intentionally surrender them to God in obedience.

  1. Consecration is separation from what contaminates purpose:

Instruction: Distance yourself from anything that weakens your spiritual sensitivity.

In 2 Corinthians 6:17, God says come out from among them and be separate. Separation is not isolation, it is protection of divine assignment. What you stay connected to determines what you carry. Child of God, contamination does not destroy purpose immediately, it slowly weakens it.

Do This
Remove habits, environments, and influences that reduce your spiritual fire.

  1. Consecration is surrender of personal will to God’s will:

Instruction: Let God’s will become higher than your desire.

In Luke 22:42, Jesus said not My will but Yours be done. Consecration is not just obedience in actions, it is submission in desires. It is when your preference loses authority. Child of God, true consecration begins where self-will ends.

Do This
Pray daily for alignment, asking God to reshape your desires.

  1. Consecration is spiritual purification for higher responsibility:

Instruction: Prepare your life for greater spiritual assignments.

In Isaiah 6:6–8, Isaiah was cleansed before being sent. God does not just send vessels, He purifies them first. Consecration is preparation for trust. Child of God, promotion in the spirit is preceded by purification.

Do This
Stay in repentance, prayer, and Word until your spirit becomes sensitive and clean.

  1. Consecration is ongoing, not a one-time event:

Instruction: Maintain spiritual discipline daily.

In 1 Peter 1:16, God says be holy, for I am holy. This is continuous, not occasional. Consecration is not a moment, it is a lifestyle of alignment. Child of God, what is not maintained will eventually be lost.

Do This
Build daily habits of prayer, Scripture, and obedience without compromise.

Final Word

Child of God, consecration is what makes a believer carry weight in the spirit. Without it, gifting may exist but authority will be limited. With it, even simple obedience carries power.
