It is instant obedience that is accepted by God. Delayed obedience is disobedience. Any time you want to obey, do so instantly. If God gives you an instruction and you delay to obey, you have disobeyed.
“I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments.” (Psalm 119:60)
This was the testimony of David, which made him to enjoy all round blessings.
Abraham became one of the greatest to ever live because at every point God tried him, Abraham did not delay in obedience.
There was no time God, spoke to Abraham that he delayed in obeying Him.
Prompt obedience is the reason God called Abraham His friend. He promptly obeyed all the instructions given to him by God. In Genesis Chapter 12, God asked Abraham to come out of his father’s house, he obeyed promptly. In Genesis Chapter 17, God told him to circumcise himself and every male in his house, he obeyed promptly. God told him to send away one of his sons’ mother, which was his wife’s maid by name Hagar he obeyed without delay. Even when God told him to sacrifice his only son Isaac, he was at the brink of doing it when God stopped him. There was nowhere God gave an instruction to Abraham that he disobeyed or delayed the instruction.
When your obedience to God lacks promptness, it becomes disobedience. Timeliness is what God desires from you whenever He gives you an instruction to follow. If you want to enjoy all round blessings, your obedience must be prompt.
