This is also referred to as Worship. It is focusing on God, not asking anything but just pouring your love on Him for who He is. That is what the woman with the alabaster box did. There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat (Matthew 26:7).
The prayer of thanksgiving and the prayer of adoration are different. While we thank God for something He has done or will do, adoration is admiration, respect and worship of God. Praise can be a part of adoration but adoration goes beyond praise. To truly worship God, we must let go of self and be willing to humble ourselves before Him, surrendering every part of our lives to God’s control, adoring Him for who He is and not just His works. You can do this by singing songs, hymns, dancing and even playing instruments.
