Read Luke 6:38 from your Bible
If you are not a giver, you are not entitled to receive. It is the same measure you give that you are entitled to receive. Do not expect anyone to give to you if you have not made giving a lifestyle. It is good to shout, pray and preach. But if you wish to become prosperous, you must cultivate giving as a lifestyle.
Nothing just happens. A force must be applied before there can be either a change or result. One of such forces, for prosperity, is the force of giving. It has the capacity to deliver you from the bondage of poverty.
WHO DO YOU GIVE TO?
- Give to God first: Kingdom investment must be your priority even as you are fighting against poverty and trying to elevate yourself.
Promote anything that has to do with God’s kingdom. The promotion of God’s kingdom could be in television/ radio ministry, church donations, evangelism, mission field, etc.
- Give to your parents
- Give to pastors (spiritual leaders) who have touched your life. Continue to make their lives comfortable.
- Give to the needy.
The needy can be orphans; those who have challenges of accommodation, in need of school fees, etc. These are areas of giving that will help you to deal with the spirit of poverty. The battle against poverty is not won by just engaging the demon in a shouting match or unnecessary prayers. It goes beyond that. As you pray, you must practice these laws in order to overcome poverty. Do not allow yourself become stingy or closefisted. It only leads to poverty. If there is an opportunity to give, and something tells you not to, that is the devil trying to keep you or make you poor.
shalom!
