Wickedness is real; and forces of wickedness abound all around us today. But, I have good news for you, if you are a child of God: you can overcome all the forces of wickedness! Read what the Scripture says in 1 John 4:4 :
“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
Though the whole world lies in wickedness, and evil acts are the order of the day all around us, you need not fear, for you are born to overcome them all. Scriptures abound that testify of your victory over wickedness, if you are born of God.
A sister shared the testimony of her miraculous deliverance from the hands of ritual killers. Three other people were set ablaze in her presence; they died groaning into eternity. Their offence? Nothing! They just happened to have innocently boarded a vehicle, not knowing it was conveying them to their place of death, instead of their desired destination. Sheer wickedness! But this sister was exempted, because she is a child of God.
I’m sure you also have heard one story or the other of other gruesome deeds, ritual killings, cold-blooded murders, armed robberies, injustice, witchcraft and what have you. These have become the rule, rather than the exception in our cities and villages today. No doubt, there is a noticeable upsurge in evil acts the world over, as foretold in the Bible, which tell us that as the end draws nearer, the wicked will do more wickedly.
Jeremiah 17:9 tells us that the heart of man is desperately wicked. This is why evil is multiplying daily. In the midst of it all, however, God has designed His children for triumph and victory over all acts of wickedness. Again, read what the Bible tells us:
“For whatsoever is born of God over cometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?” 1 Jn. 5:4-5.
True, we are living in this wicked world, but God has perfected His plan for us to live above the tyranny of the devil. He has equipped us with all it takes to overcome the forces of wickedness that abound in the world today.
