Read Luke 16:9-12 from your Bible
Unfaithfulness is the number one way covetousness is expressed. But unfaithfulness grounds people, making them unfruitful. Unfaithfulness means playing out the other person, with the aim of taking advantage of him. You don’t go places that way. From what Jesus said, you are bound to fail. He said, “when he fail…”
Unfaithfulness guarantees failure in our covenant walk with God. For instance, a driver who is given money to fill the fuel tank, but instead buys half tank and collects a receipt for a full tank, because he knows no one is likely to check the car to see if he actually filled the tank. This driver has only succeeded in cutting down his life and blessings by half. Unfaithfulness is a trap of the devil to make you a failure. Don’t let him, because God wants to promote you.
Do you know the big error Jacob made? Before he was born, his destiny had been determined: he was to be the greater of the two (Rom. 9:11-13). But the devil moved him to supplant his brother (Gen. 27:18-29). He didn’t have to do that to be number one. And he paid for it! He suffered under Laban for 14 years (Gen. 29:18-30). His destiny was tied down for 14 years, in which he languished in the house of Laban, his father in-law. That is what unfaithfulness can cause a man.
The god of gold is the root of all lies and evils, and it expresses itself in unfaithfulness. Be free from it’s trap!
